Noor Muzalifah Binti Shabudin is a partner at Cecil Abraham & Partners. She specialises in Corporate and Commercial, Fraud Litigation, Media Law Disputes, Public & Administrative and Environmental Law disputes as well as Arbitration disputes. She has significant advocacy experience before the High Court and the appellate courts as well as before arbitral tribunals.
She has appeared in a number of noteworthy cases before appellate courts including cases relating to the application and ambit of the defence of reportage in the context of libel claims in Malaysia in Mkini Dotcom Sdn Bhd & 5 Ors v Raub Australian Gold Mining Sdn Bhd [2021] 5 MLJ 79, and the law pertaining to applications for planning permission and the construction to the be given to Order 53 of the Rules of Court in the context of the locus standi of a party to institute judicial review proceedings in Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur v Perbadanan Pengurusan Trellises & Ors and other appeals [2023] 3 MLJ 829.
She has also successfully represented Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd in high profile environmental law disputes instituted by local residents involving the regulators and numerous developers in planning law disputes.
