Caely read law at the University of London before completing the Certificate of Legal Practice. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2020.

  • Catajaya Sdn Bhd v Shoppoint Sdn Bhd & Ors [2021] 2 MLJ 374 – This is dispute pertaining to the applicable principles that a required to be adhered in seeking to validly terminate a contract. The Federal Court in allowing Catajaya Sdn Bhd’s appeal held that notices of termination should have been given to Catajaya Sdn Bhd to rectify the identified breach and to take steps to rectify that breach within the prescribed time as agreed, which Shoppoint Sdn Bhd failed to do. The Federal Court held that clauses relating to termination in an agreement had to be strictly construed and adhered to (led by Tan Sri Dato’ Cecil Abraham and Rishwant Singh).
  • Datin Dr Nik Sarina Luqman Hashim v Dato’ Mohamed Moiz & Ors – This is a club law dispute pertaining to the affairs of the Selangor Polo Club where the firm acts for several members of the committee (led by Rishwant Singh).
  • Chan Ah Kien v Brite Tech Berhad & Brite Tech Corporation Sdn Bhd – This is dispute pertaining to breach of confidence and breach of privacy rights (led by Rishwant Singh).
  • Tai May Chean v Ng Pik Lian & Anor – This a highly contested dispute under the Mental Health Act 2001 for a committee to be appointed to administer to the affairs of Datin Ng Pik Lian on the grounds that she is allegedly not competent to attend to her personal affairs (led by Tan Sri’ Dato’ Cecil Abraham and Dato’ Sunil Abraham).
  • Warisan Pinang Sdn Bhd & 2 Ors v Carolyn Khor Tsai Chen – This is a claim for defamation and malicious prosecution wherein interim injunctive relief is also being sought (led by Rishwant Singh).
