  • AmTrustee Bhd v The Store (M) Sdn Bhd [2019] 5 MLJ 253 – This is a land law and tenancy dispute before the Court of Appeal related to the construction to be given to the renewal provisions in so far as tenancy agreements are concerned (led by Tan Sri Dato’ Cecil Abraham and Rishwant Singh).
  • Leisure Farm Corp Sd Bhd v Kabushiki Kaisha Ngu (previously known as Dai-Ichi Shokai) and Ors [2019] 11 MLJ 71 – This decision concerned the principles relating to assessment of damages and the evaluation of expert evidence on damages. The High Court ultimately awarded Leisure Farm Corp Sdn Bhd a sum of RM101 million in damages (led by Rishwant Singh).
  • Perbadanan Pengurusan Trellises & 9 Ors v DBKL & 3 Ors – This dispute before the High Court and Court of Appeal concerns an application to quash the development order granted to Memang Perkasa Sdn Bhd by the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur. Issues of law pertaining to the locus standi of the applicants and the construction to the be given to Rule 5 of the Planning (Development) Rules 1970 are central to this dispute (led by Tan Sri Dato’ Cecil Abraham and Dato’ Sunil Abraham).
  • Tan Bun Teet & Ors v Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad & 30 Ors – This is a dispute before the High Court wherein the applicants are asserting that the conduct of the Atomic Energy Licensing Board and/or Government of Malaysia in the licence renewal process and ultimate decision to impose new licence renewal conditions is in breach of the Federal Constitution and/or the Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984 (led by Tan Sri Dato’ Cecil Abraham and Dato’ Sunil Abraham).
  • BTC Clothier Sdn Bhd v Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd – This land law dispute before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court related to an unsuccessful challenge to the tenancy agreement that the clothing retailer, British India, instituted following the decision of the Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd to terminate the said tenancy agreement and relocate the clothing retailer within the KLCC Suria Mall (led by Tan Sri Dato’ Cecil Abraham).
  • Yap Lip Khoon v Yap Chin Hin Realty Sdn Bhd & 5 Ors – This family dispute relates to the control and management of a family investment holding wherein allegations of oppression, mis-management of company affairs and breach of directors’ duties are being alleged by the minority shareholder (led by Tan Sri Dato’ Cecil Abraham and Dato’ Sunil Abraham).
  • Kamal Hisham bin Jaafar v Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad & Anor – This is company law dispute wherein the claimant has sought to specifically enforce a purported agreement relating to the construction and development of the EDL Expressway (led by Dato’ Sunil Abraham).
